  • A Legacy of Ownership:

WBQP TV is proudly owned by Vernon and Mary Lynn Watson. Since signing on the air in June 1992, WBQP TV has been a trailblazer, being the first African American-owned TV station on the Gulf Coast and the very first “WB” (Warner Bros.) Television Network affiliate in the market. For over 30 years, WBQP TV has broadcasted on VHF Channel 12 in the greater Pensacola area. In 2022, we expanded our reach on a full-power television station, channel 53.4 on WPAN TV 53, ensuring full market coverage on the Gulf Coast. WBQP TV is now a full-market TV station covering 12 counties in South Alabama and Northwest Florida.

  • Dedicated to the African American Community:

WBQP TV stands out as the Gulf Coast’s only urban television station dedicated to serving the African American community. Our programming reflects the rich diversity and cultural experiences of this vibrant community, offering a platform to amplify voices, share stories, and celebrate achievements.
